The Vagina Monologues

December 2005
Ahh, the theater. (Or theatre, depending on your level of pretentiousness) I really had no interest in it before my internship with the Great River Shakespeare Festival in the summer of 2005, but after that, I had the bug. The creative fusion of the visual and performance arts really seemed to raise my curtains. I became the only Theater Graphic Designer that I had ever heard of, and that meant doing as many posters and playbills for Winona State student productions as I could. One of the most “famous” (relative to the bubble that is Winona State anyway) was my campaign for the Vagina Monologues.

When it was time to take down the audition posters, there weren’t any left that I could find. They were all stolen. I had no idea they would be so popular.

This is no stock photo. I actually borrowed my friend’s birth control case and scanned it in. Those were some crazy days.
